Vitaly works as an entomologist in the laboratory of plant preservation in the Amur branch of the Botanical Garden–Institute FEB RAS. He is interested is the systematics, taxonomy, biology, zoogeography, and ecology of Scarabaeoidea beetles of the Russian Far East and adjoining regions.
