Takeshi Matsumoto's (formerly
Takeshi Itoh) interests are taxonomy and phylogeny of the rhizotrogine
groups (Melolonthinae) of the Oriental Region. He started
his study on Melolonthinae in the latter half of 1980s. At present,
he is studying Holotrichia from the Philippines and
Sunda Islands.
