Ronald M. Young

Ron Young.

Ron lives in Cody, Wyoming, where he is the Senior Curator of the Absaroka Natural History Trust, a private, not-for-profit foundation dedicated to the collection, identification, curation, and conservation of the invertebrate fossil fauna of the Cody Shale Formation. Ron spends hundreds of hours each year prospecting for fossils in the ancient sea beds of the Big Horn Basin of northwest Wyoming. When not involved with creatures from the great inland sea of Cretaceous times, Ron engages in worldwide trading of scarabs. He has limited his holdings to Rutelinae, Dynastinae, Cetoniinae, and Polyphylla, which he monographed for his PhD dissertation. His collection now fills 65 Cornell drawers. His primary interest is the systematics of the groups mentioned above that occur in the South Pacific region.
