Rafael Nunes is a M.S graduate student in ecology and biodiversity conservation at the Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso, Brasil, working under the guidance of Dr. Fernando Vaz-de-Mello. For his thesis work, he is doing a revision of the brachypterous species of Dichotomius (Scarabaeinae). He has interests in the taxonomy and systematics of Dichotomius, morphological variations in Phanaeini, biogeography of central Brazilian scarabs, and population studies of Scarabaeinae species.
