Mateus F. Souza is an M.S. graduate student in Ecology and Biodiversity Conservation at the Univerisdade Federal do Mato Grosso in Brazil working under the guidance of Dr. Fernando Vaz-de-Mello. Mateus has a strong interest in the ecology and taxonomy of Scarabaeinae. He is currently working on his thesis that will deal with diversity of dung beetles in the Amazon. In the area of taxonomy, he is reviewing the genus Hansreia.
