M.J. Paulsen received his Ph.D. from the Department of Entomology at the University
of Nebraska, and is Entomology collection manager of the Nebraska State Museum. His research interests include the phylogeny, ecology,
and taxonomy of New World scarab beetles, and higher-level classification of Lucanidae. For his Ph.D. research,
he revised the genus Pycnosiphorus, a group of
South American stag beetles. He is also interested in the phylogeny,
ecology, and behavior of the Euphoriina (Cetoniinae) and Aphodiini
(Aphodiinae) and systematics of Glaresidae and Ochodaeidae.
| M.J. is also interested
in surveying to augment the known scarabs of Nebraska, and
he has collected extensively in Nebraska. He also
has an interest in increasing the general appreciation for
the diversity of insects, especially Coleoptera. |
