Federico C. Ocampo was recently the Collection Manager in the Division of Entomology at the University of Nebraska State Museum. His research interests include the evolution, phylogeny, biogeography, and conservation of New World scarab beetles. For his Ph.D. research, he worked on the phylogeny of the family Hybosoridae and revising the genera of the New World. Hi is currently working on the Biodiversity Survey and Inventory of the Southern South American Scarabs. Other proyects include the systematics, phylogeography, and evolution of the dung beetle tribe Eucraniini and the neotropical genera Allidiostoma (Allidiostomatinae), Aclopus and Neophaenognatha (Aclopinae). Federico has a strong interest in insect photography, and bioinformatics.
